Corymbia

Queensland

Key covers only those species of Eucalyptus, Corymbia and Angophora that are indigenous to Queensland. A mallee is a plant with numerous stems arising from ground level. A mature tree/mallee is one that is old enough to bear flower buds, flowers and fruits. Adult leaves are those borne on mature trees/mallees, and in the vicinity of flowers and fruits. Juvenile leaves are those borne on young plants (typically less than one metre high), and on (epicormic) sucker growth. The fruiting disc is the part of the fruit between the base of the valves and the former position of the stamens (staminophore); in many species it is inconspicuous, but in some groups e.g. red gums, it is readily seen and taxonomically significant.
