This key is based on Cope (1995; Cope, T.A. Paniceae in Flora of Somalia 4: 219-248) but has been modified to reflect changes made since publication of his treatment. It assumes that some of the species he included in Brachiaria will turn out to belong in Urochloa, but this requires checking before the necessary combinations are made.
