This key incorporates the genera of the families recognized as Tiliaceae, Sterculiaceae, Bombaceae, and Malvaceae in the Flora of Somaiia. Expansion of the family is supported by molecular and morphological data. They have long been considered closely related. December 22: Added Malvastrum, one species of which has become established in Somaliland.
